Nonlinear Crystals

Thorlabs offers a variety of nonlinear ß-BBO and LBO crystals for use with pulsed laser sources. The ß-BBO nonlinear crystals are mounted in Ø1" housings with engravings that indicate the rotation axis and polarization orientations for the input and output beams to aid in aligning the crystal for optimal phase matching. The LBO crystals are mounted for drop-in compatibility with our nonlinear crystal ovens, which provide temperature control for phase matching. Type-I, type-II, and noncritical phase matching nonlinear crystals are available for Second-Harmonic Generation (SHG), type-II nonlinear crystals are available for Sum Frequency Generation (SFG), and both type-I and type-II nonlinear crystals are available for Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion (SPDC).
